Jeb Mason, Founder & CEO

Jeb Mason is the founder and CEO of M Street Capital, LLC, formed to bring professionalism and institutional-quality management to opportunities in the single-family rental market. He has over a decade personal experience as an investor in single-family real estate in the DFW area and has advised several major institutional players in the single-family rental market.

Jeb is also Partner & Managing Director of the Cypress Group, LLC, a boutique financial services & policy research firm where he specializes in helping institutional investors, Fortune 100 companies, and innovative start-up businesses identify opportunities and navigate risks in today’s dynamic public policy environment – particularly as it relates to financial regulatory reform and federal housing finance policy.

Prior to joining Cypress and founding M Street, Mason served with distinction as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury and Policy Advisor to Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr, from December 2006 to January 2009, during which time he played a key role in developing the Treasury’s views on domestic and international economic policy, and helped spearhead the Federal government’s early response to the housing and financial crises. Mason also previously served as Associate Director for Strategic Initiatives at the White House, and spent three years as a Department of Defense Fellow where he rotated through a succession of crisis-management assignments, advising senior leaders at the Pentagon, the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq. Mason holds degrees in Economics and Public Policy from Southern Methodist University. He currently resides in his native Dallas with his family.

 

Joel Broyles, COO

Joel Broyles is co-founder and COO of M Street Capital, LLC. He is a licensed real estate broker in Texas, and leads all acquisition, capex, and sales on behalf of M Street, its clients and investors. From 2012-2014 Joel oversaw acquisition & renovation for the entire Dallas/Ft. Worth (North Texas) area for a major publicly-traded single family residential REIT. He has performed underwriting diligence on over 15,000 single-family homes, and managed the acquisition pipeline for over 450 homes, deploying over $50 million in capital roughly two years. He has also managed the renovation capital expenditure, and lease-up for over 250 homes representing roughly $5 million in renovations. In addition to his acquisition and capex expertise, he has run all accounting, funding, brokerage and post-closing activities, and provided oversight of property management to ensure timely, accurate lease-up of homes, rent collection, maintenance and turns. He has exceeded his investors’ targeted gross annual yields in 2012-2015. Broyles holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in management information science from the University of Texas at Austin. He currently resides in Dallas.
